Welcome to Sheepscombe Primary School
‘An inspirational setting where all children flourish.‘
Our school is a small, long established Primary School of 65 pupils in the heart of the idyllic village of Sheepscombe. Within this inspirational setting we truly believe that every child has the opportunity to flourish and be successful across all areas of the curriculum, as well as developing as individuals through our core values which are underpinned by kindness, compassion and respect. Our school belongs to everyone -children, staff, governors, parents, families and the local community. We take great pride in our school and all that we do here. Everything we do has children’s happiness at its heart.
We provide an engaging, exciting thematic curriculum, that promotes curiosity and inspires each child to reach their full potential whatever their starting point. We believe in providing an education that gives the children a breadth of experiences in a safe and friendly environment. We have regular trips, visitors to school, art, science, music and drama events and our children also take part in a full range of competitive sporting activities. We value the use of the outdoor space and use this to support our learning throughout the week, including Forest School sessions led by our own Forest School Leader at the National Trust site at Ebworth, right on our doorstep.
The culture within our school is one of warmth and friendliness. We operate as one big school family and children and adults look out for each other. Staff know each child really well and children tell us they feel safe and happy here. We continually strive to provide the very best quality teaching, learning and emotional support for every child, in every year group, every day.
The local community is very important to us at Sheepscombe School and we involve them in everything we do. We also appreciate and welcome parental involvement and actively encourage our parents to participate in school life. Our parent association FOSS (Friends of Sheepscombe School) plays an active and important role and is a big part of our supportive school community.
We hope you enjoy looking at our website but the very best way to find out who we are and what we offer is to come and look around. Visits are available at any time of year so please give us a call. We encourage you to visit when school is in session to see our children and staff at work and play. We are well staffed across the school and also offer an 8 place ‘ Little Lambs’ preschool every day of the week. We also run Breakfast club and a wide range of After School clubs every day.
